Corals in the Red Sea come in an almost infinite variety of shapes, colours & textures. |

Table corals are found along many of Sinai's walls. This formation is at Paradise. |
Corals can be hard or soft, shaped in clumps, plates, branches or fans. All of them sting, but only a few strongly enough that humans can feel it. |

Pinky's wall is one of the best locations in Sinai for rich soft corals.
|
Sea Fans are another type of colonial coelenterate closely related to corals. In the Red Sea some gorgonian species grow to spans of 20 feet. Since they are dependent upon water-borne nutrients, most of the larger ones are located on walls or points exposed to strong currents. |
